arteVISTA

Montreal is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities in North America. There is an almost unrivalled variety of building styles and architecture. However there is also several disused lots and unattractive walls. Galerie Artevista is a unique opportunity in the sphere of public art to improve some of Montreal's blind facades through the development and production of Galerie Artevista.

Galerie Artevista consists of large-format vinyl reproductions of artworks by local artists which are fixed to bare walls around the city of Montreal. Each mural is sponsored by a corporation, with the goal being to brighten up the city over a period of many years and also the support of local artists. Galerie Artevista is an environmentally sound, socially responsible way of marketing which transforms unattractive parts of Montreal into visually stimulating, but mentally soothing artworks.

The project has the support of Mr. Gérald Tremblay, Mayor of Montreal, who we would like to thank for his encouragement, as well as the City of Montreal and Tourisme Montréal, who are among the initial sponsors.

Galerie Artevista is a private initiative which was launched in November 2000 with murals in high visibility locations. Additional murals will appear around the city, as Montreal is transformed into the Biggest Art Gallery in the World.
