How do I become a sponsor?

Sponsorship is open to large corporations and government entities for a minimum of two years. To obtain further details or to arrange a meeting call Stéfany Corey at (514) 875-6255, email her or download our press kit.

How do I submit my artworks?

Artists may submit artworks by mailing or emailing examples to John Dutton. All artwork must be an original work of the artist, who retains all rights for reproduction, and must not have content which may be deemed offensive to the general public. A maximum of three works per artist will be included in the arteVISTA portfolio which is presented to sponsors. Once an artist has an artwork chosen for reproduction as a mural the remaining artworks by the same artist will be removed from the arteVISTA presentation portfolio to ensure as great a variety of murals as possible.

Does a wall I own meet the criteria for arteVISTA?

All walls used in the arteVISTA project face vehicular traffic to allow maximum visibility. According to City of Montreal regulations the wall must not be the front facade and must contain no windows. No murals can be put up in Old Montreal for the moment, as the Quebec provincial government's Ministry of Culture and Communications, which administers the area, has not, as yet, approved of the use of Old Montreal for the arteVISTA project.

How can I find out more about an artist?

Visit the page on this website containing the mural by the artist in question. There you will find some biographical details as well as a hyperlink to the artist's website, should they have one. For more information contact John Dutton by email.

How many murals will there be?

The number of murals is only limited by the number of appropriate bare walls in the City (there are a great many!) and the number of sponsors who wish to participate.

top
How long will the murals be up?

Each mural will be up for a minimum of two years. We hope to beautify the city for many years to come.

top
Who owns the murals?

Each mural is the property of Allumia Communications (formerly Oblik Creation Marketing), though the original artworks remain the property of the artists or their purchasers.

What happens to the murals after the sponsorship ends?

Each mural is a different case. A sponsor may choose to re-sponsor for a longer period; a different sponsor may pay for the upkeep of the mural; the same sponsor may replace the mural with another picture on the same wall; or finally the mural may simply be removed from the wall, should no sponsor be found.

Won't the colours fade?

arteVISTA murals are printed using MMT paint jet technology which guarantees colour fastness for seven years. Allumia is responsible for cleaning the murals on a yearly basis. Winter is the biggest enemy!

top
What if someone paints graffiti on a mural?

Each mural is protected by the same anti-graffiti coating which is used in Montreal's metro. We hope that graffiti artists will understand that our goal is also to use public space for artistic expression and that they will respect both the arteVISTA murals and the walls on which they are installed.

top
Is arteVISTA supported by public funds?

arteVISTA is a private project and has received no grants or loans from public funds. Each mural is paid for by its sponsor, though a sponsor may be a government entity.

Is arteVISTA run by the City of Montreal?

arteVISTA is run solely by Allumia Communications. We thank the City for its sponsorship and the support and help which has been given by the Mayor's office and the departments of Urbanization, Permits and Communications.
